Practice Blog Post | Isabelle Wong

 Name: Isabelle Wong

Identities important to you that you want to share: I am grateful and proud to be a practicing Lutheran (LCMS), a daughter, sister, friend, mentor, Texan, and of course, a Boilermaker!

Major: Speech, Language, & Hearing Sciences

Career Goal: Audiologist with a specialty in pediatric Auditory Processing Disorder

What is something unique about you? I'm the co-founder of a country line dancing group here at Purdue and I co-host free lessons and dances each semester for that! It is not an official Purdue organization/club but rather just groups of people who love dancing! Please let me know if you'd like to join :) We are open to ALL, regardless of dance experience!

In what ways is your family diverse? I come from a family with different backgrounds in terms of culture, socioeconomic status, religion, and ethnicity. I'm thankful for this mix!

What issues concerning diverse individuals and families are you passionate about? I am passionate about hearing loss advocacy and life-affirming practices within our society. I hope that our society can be more accommodating of those who are deaf or hard of hearing, are in a wheelchair, and for children. There is so much that can still be done in terms of education and awareness, and I hope to share more of that!

What do you like to do during your free time? I love running, baking, organizing social events, taking pictures of friends and family, writing, and of course, line dancing!
